The itinerary allows two nights in Samburu and two nights in Lewa, including a full day of game viewing in each destination as well as wildlife viewing on the transfer days.

In Samburu, you have enough time to search for the Samburu Special Five, elephants, lions and leopards, while Lewa provides excellent opportunities to see black and white rhinos, Grevy’s zebras and other northern Kenya wildlife.

The longer road journeys are on Day 1 from Nairobi to Samburu and Day 5 from Lewa back to Nairobi, while the transfer between Samburu and Lewa is considerably shorter. This makes the overall itinerary well balanced for travellers with five days available.

For photographers, conservation enthusiasts or travellers who prefer a slower safari pace, we recommend extending the trip to 6 days, allowing an additional night in Lewa for more game drives and optional activities.
